After graduating with degrees in Interactive Media Design & Computer Science from Purdue University, Nishant moved to Seattle to work for Amazon.com. At Amazon, he led the launch of Amazon’s 35th Product Category, Instant Video, and then worked on the first Kindle. He later joined Microsoft as a User Experience Evangelist to help instill design-thinking into the company culture. In 2008, he co-founded MIX Online, a revolutionary community for web professionals. As its Creative Director, Nishant helped shape MIX Online into a community recognized for quality writings and impactful projects such as A Website Named Desire, 10K Apart, and many others. When he is not writing on MIX Online, Nishant splits his time unevenly between: advising Microsoft teams on their Web strategy; contributing writings on design & human behavior to popular online publications like Smashing Magazine and UXMag; signing up for one-off projects like leading the ground-up redesign of Channel9; and, taking on the occasional speaking gig.
